My first fundraiser
In 2019 I was asked a family member who worked at the FCJ Refugee Centre if I would be willing to donate some pieces of art for a fundraiser. Instead of donating pieces, I decided to create some new ones for the fundraiser. It was a fun challenge to come up with something to reflect the seasons, and the first time I created 4 unique pieces to cohesively reflect one theme.
First times
This was my first time displaying my art, and it was a bit nerve-wracking. I hadn’t had much experience learning how to create an artist’s statement, setting prices for artwork, or being in an art gallery. The experience was a really positive one, where I met a lot of other local artists, and was able to sell all my art to go towards the FCJ Refugee Centre in Toronto.
