The Tulip
In the fall of 2018 I had a chance to attend a private workshop with a well known Ebru expert, Hayrettin Kozanoglu, in London, England. I learned about how to use traditional methods of Ebru (Turkish Water Marbling), and give it a contemporary spin.
Tradition meets innovation
In traditional Ebru, you will see many flowers, and inspiration from the natural. I spent some time learning how to make the background for a flower, and how to create the shape of the tulip. Then Hayrettin spent some time talking about how to take these techniques and break out of the traditional mold. His interpretation of this is amazing.
